1. Agreement to these Terms

By creating an account, signing in through a third-party identity provider, purchasing or activating a subscription, or otherwise using StudyArea.ai, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

You must have legal capacity to enter into this agreement. If local law requires parental or guardian consent for a minor to use an online service, that consent is required before use.

2. Accounts and security

You are responsible for accurate account information, protecting your credentials, activity performed through your account, and notifying us promptly if you believe the account has been compromised. We may suspend or restrict accounts that create security, abuse, payment, legal, or operational risk.

Normal email/password registrations require email verification. Google-based accounts rely on the verification status provided by Google.

3. AI-generated educational content

StudyArea.ai uses automated systems and third-party AI providers to generate explanations, quizzes, flashcards, grading feedback, study plans, transcripts, podcasts and other learning material. AI output can be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, biased or unsuitable for a particular course or assessment.

StudyArea.ai is a learning aid, not an authoritative academic, medical, legal, financial or professional adviser. You remain responsible for checking important information against your course materials, instructors and reliable sources. We do not guarantee grades, admission, certification, employment outcomes or academic performance.

We may route requests among configured AI providers to maintain availability. Provider changes do not alter your StudyArea.ai conversation history.

4. Free access, trials and recurring subscriptions

StudyArea.ai may provide a limited free-access period and a Premium trial. Current offers may change prospectively. Premium subscriptions are processed through PayPal and automatically renew at the interval selected unless cancelled before the next billing date.

Before checkout, the price, billing interval, trial period and renewal nature of the subscription are presented to you. You authorize PayPal and its payment network to charge the recurring amount you approve. You can cancel from StudyArea.ai where supported and/or from PayPal. Cancellation stops future renewals but does not generally reverse a charge already completed.

Current listed Premium prices are €9.99 monthly and €99.99 yearly, unless a different price is clearly displayed and agreed at checkout.

5. Refund policy

Except where mandatory applicable law requires otherwise, all fees are final and non-refundable once charged. We do not provide refunds or credits for partially used billing periods, unused features, changes of mind, failure to cancel before renewal, or periods in which an account was available but not used.

Nothing in this section removes any non-waivable refund, withdrawal, chargeback or consumer remedy that applies to you by law. Any refund that is legally required, or separately approved under PayPal's binding buyer/payment rules, will be handled as required.

6. Acceptable use

You may use StudyArea.ai only for lawful educational and study-related purposes. You may not use the service to distribute malware, evade security controls, attack systems, scrape at abusive scale, infringe intellectual property, impersonate others, upload unlawful content, abuse payment systems, reverse engineer protected service components where prohibited, or use AI functionality for unrelated prohibited or harmful activity.

We may apply rate limits, safety controls, file scanning and content restrictions. Attempts to bypass those controls may result in suspension or termination.

7. Your study material and intellectual property

You retain ownership of content you lawfully upload. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive right to host, process, transform, transmit to configured service providers, and display that content solely as needed to operate, secure, support and improve the StudyArea.ai features you request.

You represent that you have the rights necessary to upload and process the material. Do not upload confidential material, examination content, copyrighted works, personal data or third-party information unless you are legally permitted to do so.

StudyArea.ai's software, branding, interface, templates and service content remain owned by us or our licensors.

8. Availability, warranties and limitation of liability

The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not warrant uninterrupted availability, error-free AI output, compatibility with every browser/device, permanent availability of third-party APIs, or preservation of data in every circumstance.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, StudyArea is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages; lost grades, opportunities, revenue, profits or data; or losses arising from reliance on AI output, third-party services, user content or unauthorized account access. Where liability cannot be excluded, our aggregate liability for claims relating to paid service is limited to the amount you paid to us for StudyArea.ai during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, unless mandatory law requires a greater remedy.

9. United States and European consumer protections

United States. Subscription terms, recurring charges and cancellation information are presented before purchase. We require affirmative PayPal approval for recurring billing and provide a mechanism to manage/cancel Premium. State consumer-protection and privacy laws may provide additional rights that cannot be waived.

EU/EEA consumers. Mandatory consumer law, including applicable rights concerning pre-contract information, digital services and withdrawal, prevails over conflicting terms. Where the law permits a consumer to request immediate supply/performance of digital services and acknowledge consequences for a withdrawal right, the applicable statutory rules will govern. You may also have GDPR rights described in our Privacy Policy.

UK and other jurisdictions. Non-waivable statutory consumer rights remain unaffected.

10. Suspension, termination and changes

You may stop using StudyArea.ai at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for material breach, fraud, abusive conduct, security risk, non-payment, legal requirements or protection of the platform and other users. We may update features and these Terms prospectively. Material changes will be communicated where required by law.

11. Governing law and disputes

Except where consumer law requires otherwise, these Terms are governed by the laws applicable to the operator in Greece, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Consumers retain any right to bring claims in courts or forums that mandatory law makes available in their place of residence.
